In-class project. In groups or individually, students will research ten different movies' budgets and box offices. Then they graph the data on a scatterplot and create and interpret a linear regression model.

Given a blank equilateral triangle, students will recreate the Sierpinski's triangle fractal, to three iterations. They will be asked to figure out what fraction of the entire triangle each iteration takes up. From there, they will be asked to generate an infinite geometric series to describe this pattern, and then work out how much of the triangle will be filled when the series converges.
