Experience

Hi! I'm Anna, an experienced early elementary educator with a background in Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. I’m passionate about creating engaging, student-centered resources that spark joy and support meaningful learning. My materials are aligned with best practices in teaching and learning, including Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, the gradual release model ("I do, we do, you do"), social-emotional learning (SEL), and constructivist teaching strategies. I strive to make every resource developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and accessible—so all students can succeed. Whether you're looking for hands-on printables, digital tools for e-learning, or creative ways to build classroom community, I’m so glad you’re here!

Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in the belief that all students learn best when instruction is explicit, supportive, and student-centered. I use a constructivist approach to help students build knowledge through meaningful, hands-on experiences. I rely on the gradual release model ("I do, we do, you do") and heavily scaffold activities to ensure every student feels successful and confident. Each step is broken down into manageable parts, with modeling, guided practice, and tools like sentence stems, visual cues, and checklists to support learning. My lessons are designed with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in mind, offering multiple means of engagement, representation, and expression. I also incorporate social-emotional learning (SEL) and foster classroom community, so students feel safe, valued, and empowered to take risks.

My own education history

I hold a strong academic background that supports my passion for creating high-quality, effective teaching resources: B.A. in Elementary Education (Summa Cum Laude) – University of St. Thomas M.Ed. in Teaching and Learning – Capella University M.Ed. in Educational Technology and Instructional Design – Western Governors University My advanced studies in instructional design and educational technology directly inform the resources I create—ensuring they are not only engaging and age-appropriate, but also grounded in best practices for e-learning, scaffolding, and accessibility.

Additional biographical information

My husband James and I live in Minnesota—we’ve been together since we were high school sweethearts. I’ve been teaching since 2020, and with my background in art, I create resources to fill the needs I see in my own classroom. Every resource I share is one I’ve personally used and refined with my students. When I’m not teaching, I love to lift weights, read, and slowly build my dream home library. I also share my life with Rex, our Portuguese Water Dog, who likes to keep me company while I work. My favorite classroom moments are the unexpected ones—when I have to improvise, those spontaneous experiences always become the best memories.
