About the store

Experience

I am currently a Special Education teacher for students with autism in a self-contained classroom for grades 1-3.

Teaching style

Students with autism have individualized instruction based on their IEP goals. Hands-on learning is a must in my classroom as well as reinforcing independent skills by following a visual work schedule, communicating wants and needs, exhibiting appropriate social skills, and improving other daily life skills. I also focus on direct instruction, small group learning, behavior management, social-emotional learning, fine/gross motor exercises, and expressive/receptive language.

My own education history

I have a Bachelor's degree in English Education K-8, and Students with Disabilities from Kean University in New Jersey.
