This is a super basic retelling of Little Red Riding Hood in Spanish. The vocabulary is targeted and the sentence structure is basic and meant for total beginners. Following the story is an activity where students can guess what is in Riding Hood´s basket. You show them each slide and the kids can guess if they think the items will be in her basket. You can modify the level depending on ability. Then you reveal each item in the basket. Some are very silly!

Share this slideshow in Spanish with your students to teach them about many of the traditions and foods for the popular Semana Santa holiday in Spanish-speaking countries. This is a great remote learning opportunity for younger Spanish students to get outside and learn some new words in Spanish. All the words are related to transportation. Children can check off the box when they see each word outside and practice saying them in Spanish using the phonetic help provided!

These expressions can be used as a basic list of useful classroom expressions to be learned or cut up for games. You can have students cut them into cards to play memory, grab it (you say an expression in Spanish and they have to grab the corresponding English expression before their opponent) or Caramba (bingo). You could also have students make signs to hang in the classroom.

The AB student dialogue is a great way to get students talking. I do a speed dating format for the activity where I have one line of students stay in one spot and I have the another line rotate to a new partner when I flash the lights. The activity is written in English and gives students prompts that they have to complete in the target language. Students can and should try doing the A and B roles. I made a set of animal flashcards with 6 animals for a lesson: horse, pig, cat, chicken, dog and duck. There is no language written on the cards so they may be used in any language. You can do many different activities with these cards: introduce the words with sounds, bingo, have kids point to animals as you say them, play a hiding game, memory. Can be adapted and used for whatever your needs are. Stay tuned for more sets like this with different animals.
