This is a super basic retelling of Little Red Riding Hood in Spanish. The vocabulary is targeted and the sentence structure is basic and meant for total beginners. Following the story is an activity where students can guess what is in Riding Hood´s basket. You show them each slide and the kids can guess if they think the items will be in her basket. You can modify the level depending on ability. Then you reveal each item in the basket. Some are very silly!
This is a great remote learning opportunity for younger Spanish students to get outside and learn some new words in Spanish. All the words are related to transportation. Children can check off the box when they see each word outside and practice saying them in Spanish using the phonetic help provided!
This activity requires a magnetic fishing rod, easily purchased on Amazon for short money. You can also make a rod using a clip on magnet, some string and a ruler. (I usually use 2 rods during the game to give the group more turns/less waiting time.) Cut out the fish of different colors and shapes. I would recommend laminating them if you are able. Then put a paper clip on each card so they can be "caught" by the magnetic fishing rod. Students sit around the "pond". Give a rod to students on op

The AB student dialogue is a great way to get students talking. I do a speed dating format for the activity where I have one line of students stay in one spot and I have the another line rotate to a new partner when I flash the lights. The activity is written in English and gives students prompts that they have to complete in the target language. Students can and should try doing the A and B roles. This can be used in any second language (not specific to Spanish).
This is a great remote learning opportunity for younger Spanish students to get outside and learn some new words this summer. All the words are related to the beach. Children can check off the box when they see each word at the beach and practice saying them in Spanish.

I made a set of animal flashcards with 6 animals for a lesson: horse, pig, cat, chicken, dog and duck. There is no language written on the cards so they may be used in any language. You can do many different activities with these cards: introduce the words with sounds, bingo, have kids point to animals as you say them, play a hiding game, memory. Can be adapted and used for whatever your needs are. Stay tuned for more sets like this with different animals.
This is a very cute craft to do in your language classroom for Saint Patrick's Day. There is a Spanish version (Buena Suerte) and a blank version for customization. You will need clear nail polish and larger, clear glass beads for flower vases (1.5 inch), both available at your local dollar store. 1. Students decorate their little circle and cut it out. 2. Depending on their age they can put the clear nail polish on the flat part of the bead (or you can do if for them if they are a younger grou
Flashcards based on my Spanish St. Patrick's day unit, but do not have language written on them so can be used in any language or subject. I use them for counting activities, color vocabulary activities, preposition vocabulary (where is the leprechaun?), etc...
This is a great, collaborative activity for an elementary Spanish class. Cut up the labels, have each student color and decorate 1-2 labels, and give the set to the classroom teacher to hang in their classroom. Older beginning Spanish students will also benefit from these labels. Have them decorate and hang them in your own classroom!
