About the store
I have been teaching PreAP Biology for over ten years. The school I work at uses a block system where students take four classes per semester much like college. This means I go through the material twice a year and have had twice as much time to refine activities compared to teachers who are at a traditional school.

The Ultimate Dihybrid Cross Worksheet

Created by
Biologicool
This worksheet breaks down dihybrid cross questions into individual steps. Each step has its own worksheet. It is designed to show students where they are making mistakes. You can give students one section at a time and check their work before allowing them to move on. For independent learners, you can give them the whole worksheet. The answer key can be found at the end of the document. Note: this worksheet assumes students are already aware of how to complete monohybrid crosses. To assess tha

Help students connect biomolecules to their everyday lives by taking photos of the food around them. If students cannot take a photo, they can draw the food. There are three versions of this assignment included. One with color that is best for digital use, one without color best for print, and the original Word document version. The original version requires something to take photos with (not included) and access to Google Docs. A description at the end of the original version explains how to us

Get students to see biology all around them! In this activity, students must find three living things and three non-living things around them. It works great as homework but could also be a quick lets-go-outside-and-see-what-we-find activity. If you decide to do the latter get your principal's approval first. In the activity, students take photos or create quick sketches of the biotic and abiotic things they notice around them. You can follow it up with a discussion about the difference between

This is a simple table with a different row for each kingdom (archaea, eubacteria, protista, fungi, animalia, and plantae) and a different column for characteristics that will help students distinguish between the kingdoms (eukaryotic or prokaryotic, unicellular or multicellular or both, autotrophic or heterotrophic or both, etc.) I typically give this as homework at the beginning of the unit and will later give a blank one as a quiz for a formative assessment. Comes with an answer key. If you

About the store

Experience

I have been teaching PreAP Biology for over ten years. The school I work at uses a block system where students take four classes per semester much like college. This means I go through the material twice a year and have had twice as much time to refine activities compared to teachers who are at a traditional school.

Teaching style

Students need to be engaged to learn. The bulk of my teaching is meant to excite students about science and learning. Once they are hooked it is simply a matter of guiding them through the material. The activities I create are student-centered. My classroom atmosphere is one of collaboration and inclusion. I see my roll as a facilitator and tutor rather than a "sage on a stage".
