I began my career working in a multi-lingual preschool, followed by working with 8-11 year old students in a substantially separate school who struggled with emotional and behavioral challenges. After that I worked as a special educator in a 6th grade inclusion program for 15 years. Currently I am in my second year teaching general education math in a 6th grade public school. My certifications are in Early Childhood, Special Ed (K-8th), and Middle School Math (6-8).

Students are asked to look around the world around them and identify a connection to math in nature. Students then take a photo and explain the connection in writing.
