About the store

Experience

My philosophy is to build meaningful, productive relationships with every student and to create a safe, effective environment for learning. I make sure my lessons are organized and well thought out so students know what is expected of them. I do this by incorporating self-manage skills and team-building skills in my lessons.

Teaching style

My teaching method is student-based, with a high concentration on technology. Depending on the demographic, subject matter, and school plan, students will collaborate, problem-solve, and discover learning goals and objectives together with me, the teacher, as a facilitator.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I am a member of Capturing Kid's Hearts leadership team which focuses on school-wide improvement in behavior, social-emotional skills, and positive mindsets. Our school received a showcase school award for the 2018 - 19 school year. Teacher of the year twice in my teaching career.

My own education history

I received my teaching credential from National University in San Jose, California. I also earned a B.S. in Business Administration from CSU Stanislaus in Turlock, California. I also hold a Texas Teaching Certificate.

Additional biographical information

I wanted to become a teacher because I was motivated and inspired by my sister and brother in law who are teachers. The helped me get started as a substitute teacher for their schools. They showed me how rewarding and challenging teaching can be. I’m currently an elementary school teacher who has worked in the same district for 21 years. I am part of a caring collaborative staff and it feels like I’m part of a family.
