This Halloween writing activity is always a hit with my students! We watch 'Monster's Inc.' to get the kids excited to create their own monster for Halloween. The students then have to brainstorm ideas for their monster (prewriting) and then draft a descriptive paragraph describing their monster. There are also sheets for a published copy (picture of the monster, along with the descriptive paragraph. (I usually post their published copies on the hallway bulletin board.) I have also include
