Students will discover the rules associated with transformations by rotations of triangles and polygons on a coordinate grid (part of standard 8.G.3.) The activity is started off by using a cut-out manipulative to physically rotate the quadrant in which the shape is located. Students will record the transformed coordinates and write down any patterns that they notice from the original coordinates to the transformed coordinates. As a class, rules will be established. This graphic organizer features basic geometric proof properties and postulates that students often use when first learning about two-column proofs.

Students will complete 20 problems in which they will convert numbers into scientific notation from standard form, and numbers from standard form into scientific notation. Students will then color the sheet the colors indicated from the answer key, making this a self-checking activity.
