This worksheet can be used with any science world (current science) magazine article. It asks students to analyze the article (title, essential question, summary). I use this worksheet once a week to combine reading comprehension and science discoveries. Students find the format easy to follow.
This review helps prepare students for a solar system quiz or test. It encourages students to use their notes and the data table to answer the questions. It concludes with a claim, evidence, reasoning paragraph that will require students to their about the solar system as a whole. Finally, it has an extension section for students to create their own questions and answers based on the data table.
Collect actual, up to date weather data from the NOAA.gov website. This data table is set up in order to help keep the information in the correct spot. After the first day, comparisons will be make with the previous days. At the end of the week, it includes an analysis of the entire week.
After many years of teaching, I realized students interrupted the video when I had them fill in the blanks during a video. They were constantly calling out "how do you spell..." while the next questions was playing. Since then, I have developed multiple choice video worksheets and this has eased my frustration.
