The Locomotor License is the culminating award for our locomotor skills unit. As we move through our unit practicing and assessing our locomotor skills, I will remind students that we are trying to earn our LOCOMOTOR LICENSE. At the end of the unit, I use the locomotor traffic school obstacle course outline provided in this purchase. I will even wear a police badge and really hype it up as traffic school. Upon completion students will receive their individual licenses. They love it!

Integrate growth mindset principals within your locomotor skills unit! Students choose and skill they are confident in and a skill they are "still working on." Coach Tags allow students to teach others and learn from others. Extend learning and movement beyond the gym walls by making at-home connections to the PE experience Families join in on movement time while highlighting their student’s confidence and growth mindset for improvement.
Great for an in-person class warm-up (I use on my gym projector) or for virtual learning students. Students play a game of Spot It. They use their observation skills to "spot" the similar item. They will select the item and complete the exercise that applies to the item they chose. A fun, fast paced game to make fitness fun!
Students will love this festive Turkey Day warm-up. Students work on their fitness as well as counting skills. They will earn feathers for jogging laps, complete exercises based on the feathers they earn-all with the goal of creating their own "Cone Turkeys." I have done this with grades 1-6 in this format. It has also worked with Kindergarten. For the Kinders, I have modified it to simply jogging, collecting, and placing in number order.
Motivate your classes with new and exciting workouts! The America Ninja workout is inspired by the TV Show America Ninja Warrior and the sport of Parkour. This is a great way to get kids moving in new ways!
The slides include workouts that would be considered "training" for the main events. Each slide provides a visual demonstration.
Slides can be projected for whole class group workouts!
