Hounds & Jackals Board Game (Ancient Egypt)

Created by

I created a printable version of this game to allow my children to explore a traditional Ancient Egyptian game, while learning about Ancient Egypt. This game encourages the children to engage with logical thinking and reasoning incorporating strategic analysis and risk taking. Basic mental addition skills are required especially toward the end of the map. This game was enjoyed by some of the youngest and oldest children in our school.

About the store

Experience

I have taught at various types of schools. Starting at a farm school in a rural area, I moved to a underperforming Government school in the suburbs. Eventually I took some time working at a NPO school, after which I decided to help create and prove the possible success of a hybrid school system between mainstream and Montessori education.

Teaching style

I currently teach in a Montessori School and strongly believe that children are able to create their own learning. If we treat children the way we expect them to behave then they will behave the way they are treated.

My own education history

I started grade 1 at a school that my grandparents had attended, it was here that we discovered that I had ADHD. However when we had to move, I was placed in a government school that was not my parents first choice and my journey of a damaged schooling began. Following through to high school, where I would watch as my teachers struggled to explain the simplest concepts to my peers in a way that they understood. This ignited my desire to want to teach, so I got my B.Ed at one of the most prestigious universities in the country.
