This two-day lesson covers Faulker's short story with links to the Lizzie Borden murder trial of the 1890s. In between readings of the stories, students connect the events to real-world occurrences with graphic organizers and historical events. Meanwhile, vocabulary crosswords and assessments support their understanding of the stories' language.
