This package is aimed at helping Primary Grade students reflect upon their own learning journey. It includes core competencies for communication, creative thinking, critical thinking, personal and cultural identity, and social responsibility. Students are asked to provide examples of them demonstrating the competency pictorially, provide a written reflection of when they demonstrated the particular competency, and also to provide a learning goal for the future.

These Core Competency Self-Assessment sheets are designed with all learners in mind. They can be filled in independently or with teacher guidance. I love doing these on a weekly basis! I have seen excellent growth with my students as they are able to better reflect on their own learning and set realistic learning goals for themselves.
The editing process is often an overlooked part of the overall writing process. These self and peer editing checklists will allow students to reflect and revise their own creative stories independently and with a peer.
This pumpkin observation booklet is a perfect companion to any pumpkin science unit! It is engaging and allows students to observe 8 different pumpkins or gourds by sketching what they see and recording any relevant adjectives. It is easy to prep and offers students a chance to work cooperatively with small groups as they rotate to the different stations.

This updated "arrow" self-assessment and reflection tool was developed by the Delta School District in an ongoing effort to make assessment meaningful and authentic. This arrow can be used with the entire class, but also with individual students. The language is accessible to students of all ages and helps to honour each students' ongoing learning journey. Terminology on the arrow itself has been updated to include language used by the Surrey School District #36.

Happy New Year! This easy to prep package will help students to both reflect upon 2017 and ring in the new year. This eight page package begins with a wordsearch containing a collection of New Year’s related words, followed by two pages reflecting upon the holidays and 2017. Students can both draw and write their thoughts. A page has also been included where students are invited to write about what they look forward to the most in 2018. There are also two pages that allow students to think
This easy to prep activity includes lists of the most frequently misspelled words, a blank template for any spelling word list, and a "What's the Scoop?" writing template. Students choose three vocabulary words from the spelling word lists, glue them onto the writing template (into the ice cream scoops) and use them to write a creative news story, giving students a different way of practicing their spelling.
