Creative Lesson Concepts

These rubrics were written to match the Florida ELA LAFS standards and rubrics that are provided by the state. Included are two student friendly writing rubrics for analytical or text based written responses. One rubric is for opinion writing and the other is for informational/explanatory writing. These rubrics have been designed to be used as scoring sheets for students as well if you choose.

These All About Me posters have a nautical theme and are designed to be printed on 11 x 17 inch paper. You can upload to any office supply or printing store and have a class set printed for around $5! Or print at school on a copy machine!! Perfect for students to share when they are student of the week or to introduce each other at the start of the school year! Grades 2-5 are listed AS WELL as a general page that does not specify a grade.

This set of writing rubrics has been designed with student-friendly language using the Florida BEST Standards. The set includes a one-page option for both expository and argumentative essays. Also included in this purchase are paper-saving, half-page options that can be printed and used for scoring written pieces. I am a 5th-grade teacher and designed these to use with my own students. An easy way to manage assignments students miss when absent from school. Print the cover page and laminate on a manila folder. Leave the folder at the student's seat or on your desk and add work to the folder while they are gone. There also is a notes page for each subject they miss so that any additional assignments can be added to this page. Enjoy!

I use this helpful journal page as a guide for my students when writing to text they are reading or we have read as a class. I cut the journal pages and glue them to the inside front cover of their reading journal so it's always easy to use and find. I hope you enjoy this!
