A quick review that comes in handy as a refresher for students coming back from the break. It is a 3-page worksheet that reminds students of types of sentences, subjects and predicates, as well as nouns, adverbs, adjectives and verbs. It comes with an answer sheet as well.

This PPT can be used as a game in class or as an incentive for good behaviour. It is editable and more islands can be added. Each island can be made to be a small reward or the islands can be used as stepping stones on the way to Treasure Island. I recommend sharing your screen with the class and moving the pirate ship together. Then you can click reading view and click on the island together as well! Enjoy!

This PowerPoint introduces students to beginning consonant sounds and short vowels. After an introduction to each sound, students are introduced to a CVC word that encourages blending. There is a review of each CVC word in two parts of the PPT. I recommend saying the sound, having the student repeat after you and then blending the CVC word together. Students should only move on to the next slide/ sound when they have mastered the sound and are able to blend the word on their own.
