Dan New is a Mathematics teacher and 21st Century Specialist for the Rocky View School Division in Airdrie, Alberta. Dan received his Bachelors of Education from the University of Alberta with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Technology. As an educator, Dan focuses on creating educational environments where students construct their own understanding through content creation and discovery in conjunction with technological tools. Dan has served as an Educational Technologist, co-authored university textbook materials on educational technology and received multiple educational technology grants. Most recently, Dan became a proud member of the Apple Distinguished Educator class of 2013.

Drawing and Representing 3-D Objects Project
This project was developed in alignment with the WNCP Canadian grade 11 Math 20-3 curriculum. The project covers all the learning outcomes for the representing objects sections of the course.
This assignment takes what students know about representing 3-D objects and has them apply it to a unique objects that they have created. As students move through the sections of this assignment, students develop accurate drawings of their object, and perform scale factor calculations for the object and a
