About the store
I have a strong love for reading and highly value critical thinking. My lessons focus on analyzing text, drawing inferences, and understanding character development through the full spectrum of ELA standards without pulling the reader out of the story, but rather allowing them to grow deeper connections to what they read. My background is in high school education, as well as teaching both 7th and 8th grade ELA. Currently, I partner with various multi-grade homeschool co-ops making novel based curriculum.

Students will complete the following writing task after reading Passing by Nella Larsen. Students will write 3 detailed entries that work to summarize the pivotal points of the story while also providing insight into what Clare would be feeling at the time. Students will use critical thinking to provide a narrative from a different character's perspective while still providing an accurate portrayal of setting and events.
