I have a strong love for reading and highly value critical thinking. My lessons focus on analyzing text, drawing inferences, and understanding character development through the full spectrum of ELA standards without pulling the reader out of the story, but rather allowing them to grow deeper connections to what they read.
My background is in high school education, as well as teaching both 7th and 8th grade ELA. Currently, I partner with various multi-grade homeschool co-ops making novel based curriculum.

Poetry Practice- Autumn Leaves
This packet is the perfect fall activity (or anytime poetry practice is needed)! Guided Reading Article: Pizza in the Pandemic
Using a New York Times article from Feb. 2021 about the pandemic's impact on the pizza industry students will practice critical reading and annotation skills.
