About the store
This is my 8th year teaching. When I was in college I was sure I wanted to teach elementary school special education. After my schooling, I was offered a job teaching special education at the middle school level which I took and have not looked back since. I simply love working with middle school age students! Each day is a new adventure. Four years ago, I made the jump out of Special Education but did not go too far. I currently teach 7th grade math in an inclusion setting as the regular education teacher. I love applying my knowledge of working with struggling students to math to make it come alive for all students.

Experience

This is my 8th year teaching. When I was in college I was sure I wanted to teach elementary school special education. After my schooling, I was offered a job teaching special education at the middle school level which I took and have not looked back since. I simply love working with middle school age students! Each day is a new adventure. Four years ago, I made the jump out of Special Education but did not go too far. Teaching style

Is controlled chaos a teaching style? I believe that each student can learn, however they may do it in a different way. By the time some of my students enter my class at the beginning of the year, they have developed a feeling of inadequacy in mathematics. Many of them have not experienced success in math because they have been provided a one size fits all experience that simply does not work for them. In my classroom, I make math fun and relevant to their lives and constantly work in small groups to ensure that each student is thriving and gets the attention they need to know that they can be successful in math.
