Students are given the factored form of a quadratic equation and practice stating the zeros. Then students analyze a graph to find the zeros and possible factors. They then select the correct equation for the graph in vertex form. Great as a review for LEAP. (Usually used as an entrance ticket for when how to find the zeros is known. This is a power-point lesson on the four types of quadratic transformations in vertex form. It includes examples of positive vs. negative changes, shifts left/right, shifts up/down, and skinny vs. fat parabolas. It is a guided lesson designed for students to realize the effects of the four types of transformations on their own, by comparing graphs to the parent function.
