Educator's Walk

Teachers can use the letter tiles to have students practice their phonological awareness skills. Students can practice independently, with peers, or with the teacher. Letter tiles can be used to practice single letter sounds, combination of letters, phonemes, word building, digraphs, blends, and spelling. Tiles are good for listening activities for students to tell the difference between sounds as well. If tiles are laminated, students can also use a dry erase marker to practice writing letters.

Students can share information about themselves as an in class center activity or a home learning assignment. This sheet allows the teacher to get to know students and their interests. A great back to school, first day of school, getting to know each other activity or use to send to a new friend.

Teachers can use the graphic organizer during and after reading for students to determine 5W's within the literary or informational text. 5W's graphic organizer can also be used to help students organize their writing.
