In this presentation you will be able to expose learners to various stages of dancing. I have also included extension articles and potential extension activity ideas to teach beyond this slideshow. In this PowerPoint you will find a comprehensive lesson describing the difference between a growth mindset vs. a fixed mindset. You will also find two extension activities that can be printed out or done electronically. I kept the slides open ended so you can have your own personal discussions surrounding them. Enjoy.

This bundle includes: 5 activities (simplistic lessong) from several books including Love the Earth, I am Enough, The Proudest Blue, I Like Myself and creating a diversity rainbow and design a protest sign.

Love The Earth Activity Sheet  Materials you will need: The book Love The Earth (can be found digitally), Drawing Paper, Crayons/Markers/Pencils, Worksheet Students will be provided with an Acrostic poem template. When they complete the poem they will draw a few pictures to represent what they wrote about.

I Am Enough Activity Page  Materials you will need: People Color/Skin Color crayons, markers, colored pencils,  Book I Am Enough (online or hardcover) Activity Sheet can be printed out or the students can type into boxes.  Paper that can be folded into three sections.

The Proudest Blue  Materials you will need: Drawing Paper, People Color/Skin color crayons, a copy of the book or you can find it online.  Activity Sheet: Can be printed or used digitally. Students can insert a picture of themselves with a friend or insert clip art or their own drawings into the box.

Materials you will need: Mirrors or a Mirror to have the students look in (IPADs work too), Drawing materials, People Color/Skin Color crayons or pencils Students will read the book I Like Myself by Karen Beaumont (can be found online as well)  After reading they will draw a self portrait of themselves and  complete a fill in the blank worksheet. I included two sets of fill in the blank sheets for different levels. You can also just have them write on a piece of paper.

This handout includes a picture of a protest sign. Students will be able to write their own message on their sign. Encourage decorating it as well. Also you can have the student add their own hand holding the sign. Suggested Reading to accompany this: We March by Shane W. Evans

Before doing this activity consider reading a book like Black is a Rainbow Color by Angela Joy or one that talks about skin color. This is a coloring page to reflect the diversity in your classroom and around the world. Instead of using the traditional colors in a rainbow, students will use People Colored Crayons or markers. This will allow for representation in the classroom.

This worksheet should accompany the book A Turkey for Thanksgiving by Eve Bunting. This worksheet includes an area for the student to work on story elements, choose vegetarian/vegan options, write about their choices and then draw a picture. This can also be used digitally where they can insert images from Google instead of drawing. I hope you enjoy this simple worksheet that will allow for representation and inclusion.
