About the store
With combined 40+ years of classroom teaching experience, the small team at Firefly Minds has developed an exciting and engaging curriculum coverage for the English National Curriculum and the Northern Ireland Curriculum. However, resources are adaptable to other main curriculums.
Anne is a renowned figure in the field of Education in Northern Ireland. Her work with the Education Board to transform the NI Curriculum and developing a unique thematic approach to teaching and learning has been a huge success. Her work with the Pushkin Trust has ignited creativity amongst not only pupils in Ireland, but also teachers, many of whom have unleashed their own hidden talents and creative spark. Anne works primarily on curriculum enrichment, professional development, and creating outstanding themes, writing strategies, and whole school development plans.
Jonathan has 8+ years of experience in the classroom and leadership roles. Working in England and gaining a critical understanding of the English National Curriculum and how to deliver a creative and engaging approach with an emphasis on developing the whole child and ensuring that his approach was firmly child-centered, led to a move into the IB World in Hong Kong, where he now teaches. This was the perfect match for Jonathan and allows the team at Firefly Minds to bring the critical elements of the IB approach into our work.
Mark takes care of the day to day running of Firefly Minds and is on hand to support you.

Teaching style
With an ethos firmly grounded in creativity, our aim is to ensure our 'themes' spark and ignite the learners in your classroom. Our work has transformed many schools, moving them from Failing to Good, and beyond. We are passionate about what we do and are excited to bring our work to a wider audience on TpT.
Our style is unique in that our themes are specifically designed as 'Planning for Learning' and not Planning to Teach. That is why our themes are flexible and fluid to go where the learning goes. The child is at the centre of everything we do. Teachers facilitate the most engaging, creative, and exciting learning adventures throughout each theme. Planning is retrospective depending on where the learning journey took the class.
Our approach to Writing has transformed many schools. The whole school approach with emphasis on meaningful progression and logical development has worked wonders in improving the delivery of this key area. We have developed a bank of unique Writing Strategies to enhance the ability of the children to express how the really feel and unleash the spark within!
