This reader is designed for beginning readers learning sight words and reading strategies. It is suited to Kindergarten and first graders.
The text uses sight words already introduced, and the new sight word on the cover page. I deliberately did not use patterned text to force the reader to look at the words as he/she is reading. Students are encouraged to do what 'good readers' do when they don't know a word - get the first sound out of your mouth; look at the picture; read the first chunk
This little reader reinforces beginning reading skills while students practice sight words in context. In this book, students review the words - I, can, see, and my. Also, students have a chance to write their own sentence using the target word 'my', on the last page. This way. students are practicing both reading and writing skills.
The book is designed to be copied and collated on a copier. Choose two staples. All you need to do is cut each set in half.
