About the store

Experience

I started teaching Physical Education at the elementary level in 2014. I have taught at every level of elementary education, including Pre-K through Fifth Grade, Self Contained, and Adapted PE.

Teaching style

I am very passionate about making Physical Education engaging and inclusive for all students. I have created my own curriculum that includes skill based learning, fitness, nutrition, health education, cross-curricular activities and sports to include a well-rounded Physical Education for all of my students.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Throughout my teaching career, I have won several awards for "School of the Year" through my fundraising with American Heart Association. I started a running club for my school, for students in 4th and 5th grade. I received several grants for new equipment and heart rate monitors, to encourage excitement in Physical Education. I also co-created our own fundraising program, which donates to a new charity each year. In 2024, my co-worker and I received the "Teacher Team of the Year" award for the state of Illinois.

My own education history

I received my Bachelors degree in K-12 Physical Education, with a middle school endorsement, from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. I also earned my degree for Masters of Science in Education. I then went back to school and received a Specialist in Educational Administration Masters degree.
