This is a curriculum designed for use with the new BC curriculum, 20 assignments, divided into the four major areas of study, with a student led final self evaluation that helps you and the students check off which parts of the curriculum were assessed and touched on by various assignments. Each assignment has a rubric, and a section to sign off that it has been checked for progress or final assessment. Engage students with a project about Electric Car batteries. They research their favourite car, learn about what the batteries are made of, and which one gives the most range. They begin to understand power from an electricity perspective instead of fossil fuels, giving a primer on a unit for electricity, or power generation, or environmental impacts of various parts of industry. Adjust the presentation style or rubric as needed, but flipgrid and peer feedback is addicting. They will love it. M

This is a great year long activity for any grade, modifiable based on age, where you go outside and collect data and graph it. This product is more of an idea that you can change as you need, but it's a fantastic way to engage kids and give yourself a great reason to go outside. It's also good because you can brag about doing 'place based learning', connecting to the land and giving the kids experiences that connect the learning in their minds.
