About the store

I have been teaching kindergarten for 17 years! I loved it on day one and I still love it today! I love watching the students come in so excited on the first day of school. The growth they show as individuals and learners amazes me every year. I also love learning new strategies and techniques that help them become readers and writers. I can honestly say that I can not imagine doing anything else with my life.

Teaching style

I believe that students learn best in a structured environment. They need to know what the expectations are. I also believe that they thrive in a loving and caring atmosphere. Little learners love school (usually) and love their teachers. Teachers need to respect this and use this to create a love of learning. Little minds are ready to be molded with love and care.

My own education history

I graduated from the University of Michigan with a major in Early Childhood and minors in English Language Arts and Math. I received my masters degree from Marygrove College.

Additional biographical information

I have a wonderful, supportive husband. I am also blessed to have 2 amazing daughters and a beautiful granddaughter. My oldest daughter is a first grade teacher. My youngest is a behavior therapist and works with child with autism. I love that my daughters have dedicated their careers to young children. Very fulfilling indeed!
