This game will help reinforce the basic concept and application of perimeter (distance around an object) and area (the amount of space within the object in square units). It is mainly for 3rd grade level but higher level students can find the perimeter and area of an irregular shape. This will increase the complexity of the game.

This worksheet helps children understand that a group is more than one thing by visually showing more than one. They also must count how many of the objects belong to the group. Learning what a group looks like, is important when learning beginning multiplication. Adding a little color to math work, is a way to break up the monotony of the same old worksheet. Students will love to find out what the hidden picture is this time. Use ink dabbers or markers to complete the activity. Make sure the circles are completely colored in or the picture maybe very difficult to identify. ***Please let me know if this activity was engaging.
