I was a Chemistry/Biology high school teacher for six years. I know what you're thinking. Grammar is really my nemesis, go figure, but with two growing boys I've had to approach my faults/insecurities head on so I can be the helpful and patient mom god intended. This game will help reinforce the basic concept and application of perimeter (distance around an object) and area (the amount of space within the object in square units). It is mainly for 3rd grade level but higher level students can find the perimeter and area of an irregular shape. This will increase the complexity of the game.

Surprise Picture Activity
Adding a little color to math work, is a way to break up the monotony of the same old worksheet. Students will love to find out what the hidden picture is this time. Use ink dabbers or markers to complete the activity. Make sure the circles are completely colored in or the picture maybe very difficult to identify.
