How Do Predators Make Decisions About Prey?

Created by
GandCScience
Students will research the factors that drive a unique phenomenon in ecosystems - mimicry! They will explore and conduct research to determine the factors a predator uses to choose - or AVOID - prey. Guided by a NHMU entomologist using the same methods they use, students will build new, transferrable understandings of this relationship dynamic and the impact on mimics in the midst of biodiversity and range changes within the ecosystems they live in.

About the store

Experience

Over 50 years of collective education experience- essentially the "Gandalfs of Teaching". We love to try new things and pass along what we learned (generally the hard way). We work as district science specialists.

Teaching style

Teaching hands-on, solving real life problems, supporting students as they build their skills, adding a dash of humor along the way.

Awards & shining teacher moments

We teach a few kindergarten classes a year- it's like facing your biggest fears while being watched by 30 small curious humans. Anyone who teaches kindergarteners deserves a Medal of Honor- presented for those who distinguish themselves “through conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of life above and beyond the call of duty”.

My own education history

We both have Bachelor's Degrees in education and Master's Degrees in Curriculum and Instructional Design. We have endorsements aplenty- including instructional coaching, ESL, ELA and science to name a few.

Additional biographical information

We're just your run of the mills over-achievers who love to take risks and providing teachers with resources to make teaching a smidge easier.
