Use this self paced, choose your own adventure style, observation and inference "story" to support students understanding. This can be used in both middle school and high school as you talk about the scientific method. There is a story embedded in the slides that students uncover one word at a time. This is a doc that goes along with a website that explores the scale of the universe. I use this with both my Applied Chemistry and Geoscience classes. It is a great sub lesson or homework as students can work through it independently.

In this quintessential science lab students will collect the temperature data of ice water being heated on a hot plate. What makes this different is that it uses Google Sheets with temperature conversion formulas as well as a graph that auto-populates as you fill in the data.
