In this quintessential science lab students will collect the temperature data of ice water being heated on a hot plate. What makes this different is that it uses Google Sheets with temperature conversion formulas as well as a graph that auto-populates as you fill in the data. This is an introductory lesson to Mass Composition along with a lab activity that will help students quickly grasp the concept of mass percent. I use this with my Applied Chemistry class either with whole group instruction and break out lab groups or as a self guided lesson. Included is a Google folder upload with a slide deck lesson that includes a short youtube video, a Google Sheets template with formulas and pre populated tables for streamlined data collection, google doc with analysis quest
