In this activity, students differentiate between jobs and careers. They also investigate one job and one career. There is an associated homework assignment included.

Use this complete unit to build your students' skills with writing checks, managing a checking account register, and engaging in hypothetical transactions. Included in this bundle are blank checks, account register, and four days of simulation activities. I use this unit to build financial literacy skills with my middle school and high school students with special needs.

I use this product when teaching students about cooking and following recipes. The focus of this activity is learning about liquid measuring cups. In this three-page activity/assessment, students first identify amounts in pictured measuring cups. Then, they color measuring cups to represent given amounts using one measuring cup. Use this resource to have your students identify pictures of fractions depicting 1/2 in a field of fractions that are 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, and 1/5. Students circle fractions showing 1/2. No reading is required.

This is the first day of a 4-day checking account simulation. Students become familiar with terms such as deposit, withdrawal, checks, and accounts. You can use this independently or in conjunction with the other four simulation days. You can also use my checkbook register and blank checks (also in my store) along with this simulation.

Use this assessment to determine student knowledge of time concepts. Assessment includes days of the week, months of the year, writing dates in various formats (MM/DD/YY, etc.), telling time on analog clocks, determining AM/PM, estimating time (minutes, seconds, hours, etc.), and understanding daily schedule. Pages can be used as a single assessment or separately.

Use this checkbook register to teach students how to maintain a checking account. This can also be used with the checking account simulation in my store.

This financial vocabulary sort contains 16 terms (wants, needs, bank, interest, withdrawal, loan, price, ATM, deposit, etc.) along with 32 cards for matching/sorting. Cards include pictures, examples, and definitions of the given terms. Use this resource to review financial vocabulary or even as a way to pre-assess student knowledge prior to instruction.

In this product, students brainstorm various ways to earn money. There is also an assignment that involves interviewing an adult to learn about how he/she has earned money as a teen and adult.

In this activity, students use pictures to compare fractions ( < , > , =).

Use this resource to have students practice identifying fractions that are 1/4 from a field of other fraction pictures (1/2, 1/3, 1/5). Students circle the pictures representing the fraction 1/4.
