Students need to learn and practice math fact strategies rather than just memorizing the facts. These worksheets will allow students to practice math strategies and become more fluent in adding and subtracting. Each strategy includes an addition and subtraction page. This will also allow students to see how addition and subtraction facts can be compared using strategies. Directions: Use the blank colored cards for the back of the cards if you want. I laminate them to make them last longer. Sort the cards by color. (You may want to print more than one set in order to get more cards.) Place all the same colored cards in a deck and place in a ziplock bag or other card container. Students need to learn to sort and identify strategies to solve math facts. This set allows students to study a strategy, practice and add new strategies to distinguish between. In my classroom the students start with one strategy and continue to add more pages to their sort bag until they have one large sort of many different strategies.
