This is a 6-step project with a grading rubric to take students through the steps of collecting data, organizing it into different types of graphs, and interpreting it. Easily adaptable for grades 3-5.

This is a powerpoint with 21 slides to review algebra in the fifth grade curriculum. Questions include concepts such as writing the algebraic expression in words, writing word phrases into an algebraic expression, solving for a variable, solving for a variable given two different values, and using a chart to write an algebraic expression for the rule then finding the missing value.

Here is the packet we send home at the beginning of the year that includes a letter to parents, our daily schedule, the ABC's of fifth grade, Testing information, and curriculum taught with how we assess.

You have been given $1 million to build a one-floor dream home! You have 45 feet x 55 feet of land. You can plan to have anything in your home. If you want three cars, or a pool you must take in consideration the dimension as well as the amount of area each item will have. You will be given a poster board to put all of this information. Before putting info on poster board, you need to complete a rough draft. Start with a pencil and a large eraser... just in case you change your mind!

This is an easy-to-use chart for students to quickly figure out if a number is divisible by another digit without long division. Also, multiplication strategies are outlined step-by-step for students or parents to try alternative methods.

This is a powerpoint with 12 slides to introduce class rules and procedures in a fun way for first day jitters. I used this with our wireless buzz-in device, but you could have kids answer in a variety of ways. Feel free to change the questions, answers, and make it your own!
