Students research a physical feature, landmark, or festival in Europe. They apply the five themes of geography to that topic and then plan a trip to see that topic. The student packet is very detailed and step by step. Helpful hints and a rubric are included in this packet. A list of 97 European landmarks is also included. This project takes 1-2 weeks for my 7th graders.

This is my end of year project for 7th grade. Students choose their favorite place and time period we studied this year and they create one of 6 options. Options range from commercials, to diaries to historical fiction novels. They truly enjoy this one!

Students work in groups of 5-7 as a news broadcasting team to report on a region of Africa. They have assigned roles from station manager to set designer to lead anchor. Students create a news report with weather, current events, main news stories, sports, commercials for products found in their region, and human interest stories. RAFT to go with Great Wall of China DBQ- students write about either the costs or benefits of the Great Wall of China.

Students Look at three different sources about Christopher Columbus and then compare them with the "facts" of their prior knowledge. Paper/Presentation as final product. The second slide of the included presentation is a place for your class to brain storm their prior knowledge. It is currently pre-populated with results from my last class.The Paper requires a higher level of thinking than the presentation so this can be differentiated very easily.
