This document contains two tests I created to test deeper thinking among my small group / guided reading groups.
It is designed in the style of state assessments, which usually require much more thinking than simply "what happened in the story" questions.
After reading the book and giving smaller assignments along the way, give this assessment as a final checkpoint for each section.
