Students can use this Scavenger Hunt to practice the distributive property. Allow students to work in groups, and the scavenger hunt allows them to self-check and work their way through all the problems. I created the expressions so that they are very similar - students will struggle if they don't pay attention to the details. However, this allows the teacher to catch students who are not fully understand the concept.

In this activity, students are divided into groups of 4, and they first must solve multi-step equations (2-step, distributing, combining like terms) independently. They will start with Board A, which has 4 equations that need solved. Each student in the group will solve one problem. After all 4 students are finished, they will add up their answers. In the middle of the board, there is a sum that the 4 answers should add up to. If students do not get the correct sum, they then work together

This particular set has all positive numbers, so it would be best for students who are just learning how to solve equations. You can allow students to work with a small group, and simply assign them a letter to start at. From there, they solve the problem and find the solution on a different poster. In this activity, students are to match the linear equation to the graph and table. There are 4 sets of cards - one set lists the equations in slope-intercept form, the second set lists the equations in standard form, the third set has the tables, and the fourth set has the graphs. Students are to group the cards into sets of 4. You don't have to use all 4 sets if students aren't ready (you could take out the Standards Form set). Answer Key is included!

The 2-step equations scavenger hunt allows students to actively solve 2-step equations with negatives. Students can work in small groups, and the teacher assigns them a letter to start at.
