Student project for ordering and adding integers - Rubric Included! The topic is made personal for students - it's all based off of their birthday. For the Step 2 when students pick integers, I have used two methods: Option 1: Make integer cards for them to pick from a hat - 1 with positives, 1 with negatives. (See bundle with integer cards included.) Option 2: Use random integer generator online! (Be careful setting the parameters.) Word doc file, so feel free to edit as you'd like.

Great ice-breaker type activity for the beginning of the school year! Also a great way to introduce new vocabulary! (Maybe add extra prep time for the groups to look up the new vocab word.) Includes directions and pre-made word cards. Word doc is editable to change to vocab of your choice! (Or alter direction as you need.)

Students work individually or in groups to plan for a hypothetical city. For Science: -Environmental Characteristics -Energy Sources -Quality of Life For Math: -Population Growth -Percents -Graphing -Predictions Basic arithmetic, writing, and critical thinking are also involved!

"All About Me... In Numbers!" - Rubric Included. A project to get to know your students while getting them thinking about numbers. I formatted it so that students could do a paper OR digital poster (on their iPads) - but you can edit the direction for just one or the other.

A fun, interactive project (or alternative assessment) for the Pythagorean Theorem. The project is specific to my school and city, but it is a Word document so you could easily edit and adjust it however you'd like! Students use the map to measure then use Pythagorean Theorem to do calculations in order to compare a messenger pigeon to walking.

Your students can practice theoretical and experimental probability about birthdays of their classmates, teachers, family, friends, and favorite celebrities! Editable in Word to change to your name and birthday (don't worry.. no years!). Fun bonus - look up birthday probabilities on YouTube. Your students (and you) might be surprised!!
