Students are planning a road trip, considering and calculating for: -locations -distances -map scale -gas mileage -rental car pricing -hotel pricing -food pricing -time spent traveling Included are step by step instructions, prices, map. Students will need a ruler. It is based on Lancaster, PA but can be adjusted for any continental US city.

Students work in groups to figure out the answer to the Monty Hall Problem (you know, from Let's Make A Deal.. 2 goats, 1 car... ) You will need cards for each group: 2 number cards for the goats, 1 face card for the car. Basic probability and converting (fraction, decimal, percent) as well as critical thinking and reflection. I highly recommend finding a good Let's Make A Deal or Monty Hall YouTube video to show as an introduction for the activity. BUT - don't reveal the answer ahead of time!!

Student project for ordering and adding integers - Rubric Included! The topic is made personal for students - it's all based off of their birthday. For the Step 2 when students pick integers, I have used two methods: Option 1: Make integer cards for them to pick from a hat - 1 with positives, 1 with negatives. (See bundle with integer cards included.) Option 2: Use random integer generator online! (Be careful setting the parameters.) Word doc file, so feel free to edit as you'd like.

Great ice-breaker type activity for the beginning of the school year! Also a great way to introduce new vocabulary! (Maybe add extra prep time for the groups to look up the new vocab word.) Probability activity: -tree diagrams -Fundamental Counting Principle -simple theoretical probability -critical thinking Students try to figure out the total number of the leprechaun's lucky lottery number possibilities and the probability of guessing it correctly. Could be done individually or in groups.

Good activity for introducing or practicing experimental probability. Starts with a Venn Diagram comparing theoretical and experimental probability. Then collecting, representing, analyzing, calculating data about M & M colors. *In case it's not obvious... you're going to need to provide M & M's for this to work. I have used 1 fun-sized bag per student or partner group; I have used 1 regular-sized pack per small group; I have also divided up BIG bags and distributed in cups or on napkins.
