The activity includes 40 cards each one showing a number in standard form and in the other side in scientific notation.The activity focuses on investigating Scientific Notation rewriting each number in decimal form, and applying the general rule to move the decimal point left or right. In this activity, the students are not evaluating expressions, just practicing in rephrase the number from standard form into scientific notation. The resulting exponents can be positive or negative. Experience
We have taught mathematics from 6th grade at undergraduate college levels during the last 33 years.
