Teaching style

Social Studies and ELA are woven throughout all of our lives in so many ways. I love seeing students draw comparisons between history and their current lives. I do my best to create opportunities for critical, creative and bold thinking and remind my students often to have the courage to be wrong. I teach mostly through conversations! Students have equal ownership over the classroom and the subject matter, and can guide the lesson at the pace they find most comfortable. I measure effectiveness through collaboration, problem solving, creativity, self-confidence, perseverance, project management, curiosity, critical thinking, and empowerment.
