19 years ago I started out in the upper elementary classroom teaching reading and science. I quickly moved into the middle school and have spent the last ten years teaching 7th grade English Language Arts. Experience

19 years ago I started out in the upper elementary classroom teaching reading and science. I quickly moved into the middle school and have spent the last ten years teaching 7th grade English Language Arts. While I love teaching all of my students, there is a special place in my heart for the struggling readers of the world.

My own education history

I started out with a bachelor's degree in elementary education, concentrating in science. Three years later I started on my master's in literacy and reading. An additional three years after that, I started on my doctorate in Literacy. I am currently ABD.

Additional biographical information

As a military brat, I attended 11 schools all over the world. I am the proud new mom of twin boys who are perfect!
