Chris Raschka's A Ball For Daisy is the Caldecott Winning Picture Book for 2012. His story is a wonderful wordless book that should be enjoyed several times before and many times after a Reader's Theater presentation. The illustrations are wonderful for prediction discussions. The story's themes highlight emotions, the value of making new friends and overcoming loss.

Awards & shining teacher moments
Instructional Design & Technology Student Research Grant Award recipient to study educational prospects within virtual reality. I worked with many of our Vietnam POW veterans on a museum experience about how they were released from captivity. I was awarded many official permissions for use of a wide variety of copyrighted material from the actual veterans that created the materials. The latter is the greater honor.
