This is a great activity which uses multiple strategies to break down the skill of finding the main idea and supporting details.

Basic rubric that allows assessment of following task directions, focusing using multiple prompting and finding facts. Also included is a student reflection. Quick activity for a Flat Stanley Summer activity. I send my students home with a Flat Stanley for the summer, they have to return the graphic organizer completely filled out with pictures, brochures, drawings of where they went with Flat Stanley over the summer. I will usually have them write a 3-5 paragraph essay and use this as my September bulletin board.Enjoy!!!
