Area Model "How To" for Fourth Graders
This three-page document contains directions on how to use the area model, three practice problems, and an answer key. The area model on the directions page is color coded to make using the model easier to understand. This could be useful to add to a student's notebook as a reference or sent home to parents who aren't sure how to help their children use this method.

Additional biographical information
My students are often my "guinea pigs" and help me find errors in my products. After looking at something multiple times, the errors often become invisible to me. My students enjoy editing me, their teacher, and it helps them develop their own proofreading skills. Needless to say, I actually use my products with my own students.
