Differentiation equals success for all. Not every student learns at the same rate and has the same abilities. Learning can occur at many different levels, and it is vital that all students grow as critical thinkers, problem solvers, and learners. I offer different levels of tasks and assessments to ensure success for all students and make myself available to help in any way possible. I will continue to research and create new and better ways of allowing my students to reach their full potential and am always seeking innovative ways to help students succeed in my classroom. Not only do I want them to be successful, but I want them to enjoy learning along the way.
I model the importance of education by constantly furthering my education as well. I am proud to have earned a marketing degree, an early childhood education degree, a middle grades education degree, a master’s degree in early childhood education, a specialist degree in curriculum and instruction, and my gifted endorsement.

Characteristics of Parent Functions
I looked all over for a chart that shows the characteristics of the parent functions and did not come up with anything that included everything I needed so I created this chart. It is six pages with each parent function on a separate page. The characteristics are domain, range, interval of increase, extrema,end behavior, y intercept, x intercept, rate of change, and symmetry. This is a great way to review the Pythagorean Theorem.

Tax, Tip, and Commission Task Cards
These 16 task cards include questions on calculating tax, tip, and commission. Questions range in difficulty from basic percent calculations to more difficult problems such as determining total bill when including tax and tip as well as how much a store needs to sale in order to make a certain percent commission. Problems such as finding the original price when given the sale price with the percent of discount or tax are quite challenging. The task cards can be uploaded in Kami and students

Teaching style
I use a variety of teaching strategies in my class. Projects, games, and interactive activities are just a few of the strategies I use. DIFFERENTIATION IS KEY!!!!

Additional biographical information
I taught in elementary and middle schools for 30 years. The last seven years I was instructional lead teacher. More recently, I have gotten certified as a behavior therapist working with autistic children.
This has lead me to write and publish books that I searched for and could not find.
