About the store
Science IS real; teaching real science doesn't have to be hard. Over the last 3+ decades, I've tried and revised a zillion strategies and methods that help students learn. Labs, activities, projects, inquiry learning - you name it, I've done it and posted the materials and strategies here for you, to make your life easier. I worked as a chemist in industry for a decade prior to obtaining teaching credentials. Since becoming a teacher, I've also taught SCUBA (mixed gas/technical instructor) and worked as an independent contractor in a virtual reality lab on a military base, designing materials to protect fighter planes. I've taught science methods at public state universities and had the privilege of facilitating accomplished teachers as they pursue National Board Certification. I've seen what works - and what doesn't work.

Teaching style

As influenced by my real-world science experience and connections, our classroom time is spent doing the real work that is most beneficial to student learning. Collaboration and creativity are key. Because accomplished teaching is more than worksheets and is certainly not easy, my store offers resources that my students have reported as being most helpful in their learning. My students are my best teachers.
